What is Minimalism?

Minimalism can mean different things to different people. For the purpose of this question, I assume you want simplify your life. Figure out the things that make you frustrated or concerned, figure out what’s wrong with them, find solutions. Here are some general ideas to simplify your life and live as minimally as you want:

1. First, you will need to prioritize what you need to do. Do the most important things or the critical tasks first and then the others will get done from the confidence boost you get from doing the important stuff.

2. Try to stick to a schedule. Allot specific time for each task, like waking up, going to sleep, exercise, etc.

3. Gradually remove all materialistic and emotional clutter from your life. Things and thoughts that are not helpful to your life or that you don’t enjoy need to go. This can be achieved over a period of time and by making it a habit. Focus your energy, time and money on only those things that are necessary.

4. Do not feel self-pity even if you have to handle both office work and household work. Take pride in the fact that you are able to do both. There is no use feeling self-pity or waiting for others to feel responsible and take responsibility for things they don’t want to. Do what you want to get done, give yourself a pat on the shoulder and go on.

5. Feel grateful for all the things in your life and see how you can add value to your life and to the lives of others around you.

6. Do not worry about what others think of you. It’s none of our business and we need not be validated by them. Practice self-love.
